In times of increased violence and conflict, women around the world are bravely holding the line. Despite global setbacks, women’s creative solutions have emerged from the grassroots. They are a spark that, if nurtured, can fuel brilliant and global movements for change.
Winnipeg has long been a trailblazer for women’s rights. The Winnipeg Fund honours this legacy, tapping into a growing network of Winnipeg’s women who believe that a better world is possible.
The purpose of The Winnipeg Fund is to mobilize resources from Winnipeg to support specific partners identified by The MATCH International Women’s Fund to be dynamic and impactful women’s rights organizations in the global South (made up of Africa, Latin America, and developing Asia including the Middle East).
Members of The Winnipeg Fund will support the radical idea that women already know what they need to solve the problems they face. They just need the funds to do it. This is a model that puts trust front and centre, matching Canadian resources with innovative, women-led ideas at the grassroots.
