We’ve reached a new milestone for women’s rights.
Today, our global call for proposals comes to a close as we reach the final day for organizations to apply for Holding Ground Grants and Breaking Ground Grants with The MATCH International Women’s Fund.
To date, we have received applications from over 500 women’s rights organizations working in the global South. Staff of the MATCH International Women’s Fund, our Board of Directors and a network of global advisors will now come together to begin the task of identifying the first round of grantees for The MATCH International Women’s Fund.
As we acknowledge this important moment, we would like to also take this opportunity to thank all of our dedicated supporters for giving us the resources and encouragement to get us where we are today. Your actions will help improve the lives of women and girls around the world.
The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
We chose to close our call for proposals today in honour of the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. We recognize the important role Canadian women’s rights activists have played in bringing about deep and dramatic social change in Canada and around the world. Today we honour these brave and committed Canadian women who have held ground and broken ground by opening a new chapter in how Canadians support women’s rights around the world.
